Grandfather & Grandson

Grandparents have a wonderful way of passing on their wisdom if we are open to receiving it

My grandfather and myself looked out toward the small man-made lake in West Texas. We chatted about everything and nothing at the same time.

Grandson, we’ve got the same time left on this planet.

Confused by youth, I argued and missed the point for the next hour. Finally resigned, I asked more. What did he mean?

From now until we die.

I saw the phrase make it this far. The context hasn’t led me astray yet.
